Community Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: June 2026
Founded and led by Nisha Sridhar, Founder & President. As Founder and President, Nisha Sridhar holds full authority over all community decisions, membership approvals, and policy enforcement. Her determination on all matters is final.
Welcome
Eastside Women in Business is a curated, invitation-only community for women who are serious about growing their businesses and committed to supporting one another. Membership is a privilege, not a right. By joining this community, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Community Purpose
This network exists to foster genuine connection, mutual referrals, and business growth among a trusted group of women entrepreneurs. Members are expected to show up, contribute, and operate with integrity — both inside and outside of meetings. A core expectation of membership is actively referring business and bringing leads to fellow members. We grow together by lifting each other up.
2. Membership & Categories
To maintain a conflict-free environment, membership is limited to one vendor per business category. Categories are determined at the sole discretion of the Founder & President. If a member’s business scope overlaps with an existing member’s category, the Founder & President will make the final determination on fit.
Membership is non-transferable and applies to the individual, not their business.
Members involved in multi-level marketing (MLM) or network marketing businesses are not eligible for membership in this community. This includes but is not limited to businesses where income is derived primarily from recruitment rather than direct sales of products or services. This determination is made at the sole discretion of the Founder & President.
3. Meeting Attendance
This community meets in person monthly. Members are expected to attend at least once per quarter. Consistent non-attendance without prior notice may result in membership review or removal. We understand life happens — please communicate early if you cannot attend.
4. Guests & Visitors
No guests are permitted without prior written approval from the Founder & President. If you would like to bring a guest, you must contact Nisha Sridhar via text or email and receive explicit approval before extending an invitation. Unapproved guests will not be admitted and the member who brought them may be denied entry as well. Bringing an unapproved guest is grounds for removal. Guest attendance does not guarantee membership.
5. Referral Integrity
One of the core values of this community is keeping referrals within our network first. Members are expected to refer business to fellow members before referring outside the group, particularly when a qualified member exists in that category.
Referring business to outside vendors in a category represented within the network — without first directing the opportunity to the network member — is a violation of community trust and may result in removal.
6. Sales & Promotion Policy
This is a relationship-first community. Unsolicited selling, pitching, or promotion of products and services is not permitted during monthly meetings unless a designated sales window has been explicitly opened by the Founder & President.
Members will be given an opportunity to share about their business but may not conduct sales presentations, distribute unsolicited promotional materials/products/samples, or pressure other members during community events without prior approval.
Paid events hosted by the community may have different guidelines communicated in advance.
7. Conflict of Interest
Members must disclose any potential conflict of interest that may arise during their membership. If a conflict of interest is identified — including but not limited to competing business activities, dual representation, or actions that undermine the trust of the group — the Founder & President reserves the right to address the situation including requesting the member’s exit from the community.
8. Respect & Conduct
Members are expected to treat all community members with respect at all times — inside meetings, in private conversations, and in any public forum including social media. Bad-mouthing, disparaging, or publicly criticizing fellow members in any context is grounds for immediate removal.
This community is built on trust. Conduct that damages the reputation of any member or the community itself will not be tolerated.
9. Membership Removal
Nisha Sridhar, as Founder & President, reserves the right to remove any member at any time, with or without cause, at her sole discretion.
Removal may be immediate and without warning for serious violations including but not limited to:
Breach of referral integrity
Disrespectful or harmful conduct toward members
Actions that damage the reputation of the community
Any behavior the Founder & President deems incompatible with community values
Removal with warning may apply for minor violations such as:
Selling during non-designated meeting time
Bringing unauthorized guests
Repeated attendance issues
Removal will be communicated privately via email or text by Nisha Sridhar. There is no formal appeals process.
10. Directory & Privacy
Member information shared within the community — including contact details, business information, and personal conversations — is confidential and may not be shared outside the group without explicit permission.
A member directory may be created in the future for internal referral purposes. Members will be notified before any directory is published or shared.
11. Changes to Terms
The Founder & President reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Members will be notified of material changes. Continued participation in the community constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
